Our role and compensation
Bakersfield Solar Incentives is a referral service connecting Bakersfield homeowners with independent solar companies. We are not an installer, lender, utility, or government agency. We do not design systems, approve permits, authorize utility interconnection, or provide tax advice.
We may be paid when a request is passed to a partner company. Those companies operate independently. A referral does not guarantee a quote, approval, installation, or savings, and does not commit you to signing a contract.
Editorial standards
We use primary sources: government publications, regulators, utilities, and statutes. For an administered program or tool, we link to its official administrator or publisher. We do not use comparison aggregators as evidence for eligibility, tariffs, or permitting requirements.
We distinguish verified source statements from unverified property-specific or inaccessible details. For example, PG&E describes its service area as reaching Bakersfield, but the utility serving a specific eastern Kern County address remains unverified here. A homeowner must check the utility named on their bill.
Another example is city permitting: the City of Bakersfield website returned a Cloudflare challenge, preventing verification of its current process. The county's SolarAPP+ listing does not establish city adoption. Our installation guide identifies these limits rather than substituting county information for city requirements.
Our stated review cadence is quarterly. The visible review date records the latest editorial review, not a guarantee that every rule remains unchanged or that an individual property qualifies. Confirm current requirements with the responsible authority before acting.
